Neem Tree Located in Front of Central Bank May Collapse Anytime

Lalbarra – In the city, several trees are visibly leaning, but some are in such a precarious condition that they could collapse at any moment. The risk of damage from a falling tree cannot be ruled out, especially in areas with constant foot traffic. The authorities should address this issue by removing these hazardous trees.

Pedestrians Risking Their Lives

It is noteworthy that the busiest route in the town is the Seoni-Balaghat road, which sees hundreds of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles passing through nearly 24 hours a day. In the residential area in front of the Central Bank, a large, green neem tree has been weakened due to nearby drain construction. This tree is at risk of collapsing, but the Madhya Pradesh State Transport and PWD departments have not yet recognized the threat to the lives of nearby residents. Pedestrians are forced to risk their lives daily.

Statements

Anku Ansari, an auto parts shop owner located directly in front of the neem tree, stated that the tree poses a constant threat. He has informed the contractor, the panchayat, and others about the issue, but no action has been taken so far.

According to Deepak Aade, SDO-MPRDC, the drain construction being carried out by the RES department or the panchayat has weakened the tree’s roots. He suggests that they should cut down the tree to prevent any accidents.
