With the blessings of Tapasvisamrat Acharyashri Sanmatisagarji Maharaj and under the inspiration of Acharyashri Sunilsagarji, the fourth Pattadhish of Munikunjur Acharyashri Adisagar (Ankilikar), the Acharya Adisagar (Ankilikar) International Awakening Forum, Mumbai, has established awards to honor scholars, journalists, Jain studies researchers, social workers, ascetic service providers, and those excelling in legal services for their outstanding contributions to the promotion of Jainism. These awards have been instituted since the year 2011-12, during the Sanmati Mahotsav. Entries are now being invited for the six prestigious awards for the year 2024. Each awardee will receive a cash prize of INR 51,000, along with a shawl, a symbolic memento, and a certificate of appreciation.
Entries can be submitted via post or email using the prescribed entry form (proforma) either by the candidate themselves or by a proposer. Entries should be sent to the Convener, Dr. Mahendrakumar Jain ‘Manuj’, 22/2, Ramganj, Jinsi, Indore-452 006 (M.P.), or via email at mkjainmanujbhoo@gmail.com, by September 15th. The prescribed entry form and detailed guidelines can be obtained from the Convener through email.
List of Awards:
- Acharya Adisagar (Ankilikar) Scholarly Award: This award is presented to a distinguished scholar who has made significant contributions to the study of Jain Agama literature, traditional teaching, archaeology, history, or linguistics, and has promoted the legacy of Munikunjur Acharyashri Adisagar Ankilikar. The patron of this award is the Jayantilalji Bhagwatiji Vinodji Rajawat Udaipur family.
- Acharya Mahavirkirti Social Service Diplomatic Award: This award is given to a diplomat who has made notable contributions to political, national, or social service. The patron of this award is Sumer Mal Ajaykumar Arvind Kumar Choodiwal, Kolkata.
- Acharya Vimalsagar Research Award: This award is presented for high-level research in any discipline of Jain studies. It is awarded to an unpublished dissertation written in any Indian language. The patron of this award is Tejpalji Surendraji Talati, Narwali family, Udaipur.
- Tapasvisamrat Acharya Sanmatisagar Journalism Award: This award is given to a journalist who has made significant contributions to Jain journalism, communication, and the promotion of Jainism and the Ankilikar tradition. The patrons of this award are Narendraji, Mrs. Prerna, and Prashu family, Sagwara, Rajasthan.
- Acharya Sunilsagar Legal and Public Service Award: This award is presented to a legal professional such as a judge, senior advocate, or someone involved in the legal system who has made outstanding contributions to society and public service. The patron of this award is the Singhai Satishchandra Keshar Devi Jain Jan Kalyan Sansthan, Nainagiri, chaired by Suresh Jain (IAS), Bhopal.
- Prathmganini Aryika Shri Vijaymati Tyagi Service Award: This award is given for outstanding service to the ascetic community, monks, and the renounced. The patrons of this award are the Rikhbchandji Ajitji Kamalji Kasliwal family, Salem.
These awards will be presented in a grand ceremony in the presence of Acharyashri Sunilsagarji Maharaj, the Pattadhish of Acharyashri Sanmatisagarji Maharaj.
Important Instructions:
- For the Research Award (3), a copy of the dissertation must be attached with the filled entry form. If a dissertation has been previously submitted, it does not need to be sent again; only a reference to it should be mentioned in the entry form.
- The decision of the selection committee will be final and binding.
- No decision related to the awards can be challenged.
- If the selected individual fails to attend the award ceremony without a valid reason, their award will be canceled and may be given to the next qualified candidate.
- Contributions related to the promotion of the Acharya Adisagar Ankilikar tradition should be submitted as attachments with the entry form.
- If the proposal is sent by someone else, the nominee’s consent is required.
