Chief Minister Dr. Yadav Participates in 23 Raksha Bandhan Events Across Various Districts
This year, for the first time in Madhya Pradesh, all festivals occurring in the Shrawan month were celebrated with great enthusiasm. The Raksha Bandhan festival continued throughout the entire month of Sawan, infusing the state with a spiritual atmosphere. Under the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, a series of Raksha Bandhan and Shrawan festivals began on August 1 and continued until Raksha Bandhan Day on August 19. Ministers, MPs, and public representatives visited their respective areas to celebrate with their sisters. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav personally participated in 23 events across various districts. It was the first time that the Chief Minister, along with members of the cabinet, celebrated Raksha Bandhan in both urban and rural areas. The atmosphere resonated with Sawan songs for 19 continuous days.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav started the Raksha Bandhan Shrawan Festival on August 1 in the city of Chitrakoot, known as the land of Lord Shri Ram, and in Chitrangi, Singrauli district. During the first Raksha Bandhan event, the Chief Minister announced that in August, an additional ₹250 would be given as a Raksha Bandhan gift along with the regular ₹1,250 to the state’s 1.29 crore Ladli sisters. This announcement was fulfilled on August 10 at a ceremony in Vijaypur, Shyopur district. The Chief Minister transferred ₹1,500 each to the accounts of all eligible Ladli sisters with a single click. At a conference with sisters in Chitrakoot, Dr. Yadav remarked that festivals in our country connect people with each other. The whole world marvels at India’s festivals. Thousands of years ago, sages began the tradition of festivals to foster love and goodwill in society. To continue this tradition, the state government has decided that every festival will be celebrated with full dignity and enthusiasm, starting with Raksha Bandhan.
During the Raksha Bandhan Shrawan Festival series, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav attended events on August 3 in Jabera and Narsinghpur, August 4 in Shajapur, August 5 in Balaghat, August 9 at the Chief Minister’s Residence in Bhopal, August 10 in Tikamgarh and Vijaypur, Shyopur district, August 11 at Ravindra Bhavan Bhopal and Mandla, August 12 at the Chief Minister’s Residence and Bhainsdehi in Betul district, August 13 at Kushabhau Thakre Hall in Bhopal, August 16 in Dindori and Anuppur, August 18 in Ujjain at Suman Garden, Shivanjali Garden, Avantika University Ground, and Hotel Solitaire, and August 19 in Khachrod and Nagda.
During the Raksha Bandhan Shrawan Festival, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted with sisters and informed them about government schemes and efforts for their empowerment. The Ladli sisters expressed their affection by tying Rakhi and also gifted symbolic large Rakhis. There was great enthusiasm among the sisters for the Raksha Bandhan Shrawan Festival. Sisters expressed their gratitude for the Raksha Bandhan gift from the Chief Minister. Women’s Self-Help Group members presented products they had made to the Chief Minister. The festival included henna stalls and swings for the sisters, and the Chief Minister even enjoyed swinging with them. Beneficiaries were also provided with benefits from welfare schemes during the Raksha Bandhan Shrawan Festival.
